Falcon has completed an ownership transition following the retirement of Owner and President, Margaret Robertson. Margaret founded the company in 1992 under the name Tierra of NC, offering geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing as its core services. In 2008, Tierra of NC was rebranded as Falcon Engineering, expanding its services to also include special inspections and environmental consulting. With Margaret’s 33 years of exceptional leadership, Falcon has had the opportunity to participate in and lead some of the largest aviation, roadway, manufacturing, university, and municipal construction projects undertaken in North Carolina, as well as many other large and small projects throughout the Eastern seaboard.
Margaret’s retirement became official in June, 2025, and the following long-time Falcon employees have assumed ownership.

Falcon is excited for this transition and new chapter in the history of Falcon. “The company is doing great! Our backlog is the largest it has ever been. Many other great opportunities lie on the horizon and come into view daily. We have the best staff we could ask for” said new President, Jeremy Hamm. “I never would have thought 17 years ago when I first met Margaret that this is where I would end up. Patrick, Allan, and I are thankful for the opportunity, proud of what Falcon has accomplished up to this point, excited for what I know we will accomplish in the future, and grateful to be surrounded by many of the best people in our industry.” Jeremy added.
Under Margaret’s leadership, Falcon built a strong reputation providing geotechnical, construction materials testing, special inspections and environmental services throughout North Carolina and the Southeast. She leaves Falcon a legacy of prioritizing employees and clients, providing an employment environment unparalleled in the industry, and delivering responsive and professional services with a collaborative and personal touch. Jeremy, Patrick, and Allan have each been with Falcon for over a decade, were integral leaders within the company prior to Margaret’s retirement, and are committed to carrying the torch forward with the same core principles of business.
We hope you will join us in celebrating this exciting news for Falcon, and we look forward to continuing to provide our exceptional clients with the same outstanding services.
