Rocky Mount Mills was established in 1818 and is the second oldest cotton mill in the State. It was also the longest mill in operation until its closing in 1996. Capitol Broadcasting, also owners of the now bustling American Tobacco Campus in Durham, acquired Rocky Mount Mills and has embarked on revitalizing the site into a mixed-use destination. In addition to corporate offices, living spaces, restaurants, and breweries, the Mills is also a public destination for several outdoor (and indoor) events including exercise programs like Zumba on the Lawn and a concert series called the Mill Music Sessions. Falcon provided geotechnical services as well as materials testing for this project.
MOB and Fitness Center
This new medical office building and fitness center supports continued quality healthcare services to the residents of Lee County, North Carolina. At three-stories tall and 40,000 sf the medical office building includes ambulance pick-up, a secondary provider entry, a mobile imaging pad, as well as office space for medical and surgical specialties. The 25,000 sf fitness center includes a pool, physical therapy services, indoor walking track, free-weights and cardio areas, and a child-care services area. Falcon provided geotechnical services during preliminary design as well as materials testing and special inspections during construction.
West Durham MOB
The Duke Private Diagnostic Clinic (PDC) constructed a 125,000 sf medical facility on 12.2 acres off of Highway 54 in Durham. The five-story facility is the first to be constructed by the PDC in its 85-year history. The facility provides Primary Care, Urgent Care, OB/GYN, Neurology, Cardiology, PT/OT, Ophthalmology, and other specialty services. In addition to the medical facility, a parking deck was also built on the site for staff and patients. Falcon provided preliminary services for this project, including a geotechnical investigation report. Falcon also provided materials testing and inspections during the construction of the building.
