Boats going under the Fantasy Harbour Bridge

At the time of design, Fantasy Harbour Bridge represented the longest spliced, post-tensioned concrete I-girder bridge in the United States, at 330 feet in main span length. The 1,800-feet long bridge rises 65 feet above the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, connecting the US 17 Bypass with the new Hard Rock Park. The bridge’s foundation system, designed by Falcon, was the first ever aggregate pier ground improvement system installed for a bridge project in South Carolina. The project is a vital link in the “metropolitan loop” for the fast-growing community of Myrtle Beach.

Forest and lakes in the National Wetlansd

Falcon served the Commonwealth of Kentucky as the technical expert for botanical assessments of wetlands throughout Kentucky. A team of private and public professionals collaborated to evaluate the overall condition of the statewide wetland areas. The findings of this project not only helped to improve the nation’s water quality, but will also protect, sustain, and restore the health of critical natural ecosystems throughout a multi-state region. In addition to developing a further understanding of the complex matrices involved in wetlands, Falcon’s role on this project contributed significantly to the development of engineered wetland practices throughout the United States. Finally, Falcon provided leadership to this broad team to determine future water quality needs and programs throughout Kentucky.
