Falcon has provided special inspection and materials testing to Wake County Public Schools on several projects, including Laurel Park Elementary. Falcon provided construction materials testing services to convert and retrofit a manufacturing facility into a new elementary school providing classroom and core facilities for up to 1,700 students. The existing facility is being converted into a two story elementary school with office space and high bay areas. A portion of the high bay areas will be used to construct a new floor system which will provide additional classroom area. The new floor area is 33,351 square feet increasing the total gross square footage to 110,557 feet. Falcon performed inspection of all open footing excavations for column and wall footings associated with the retrofit of the existing facility and provided testing of Portland cement concrete during slab and foundation placements. Falcon also provided structural steel inspection and evaluated on-site stockpiles to determine suitability for use as structural fill. Additionally, Falcon provided code consulting services to assist with final approval and acceptance of the building.
