The Town of Cary identified South Academy Street as a ‘signature street’ for the redevelopment of downtown Cary. The goal of the redevelopment was to enhance the functionality and aesthetic of the street, so it is attractive and inviting to residents and visitors alike. It is a place to hold Town festivals and events and capitalize on the activities held at the new Cary Arts Center. Falcon served as the geotechnical engineer, environmental permitting consultant and construction QA lead for this signature streetscape project. Specifically, our work included environmental screening and due diligence, in-situ pavement condition analysis and investigations, SPT soil test borings, laboratory testing, geotechnical recommendations and pavement designs, and construction testing and inspections.
